More than 30cm is forecast to fall on the glaciers in Austria and with the lifts opening on the Stubai Glacier on Friday it is fair to say that winter is starting this year bang on schedule.
The first big event to arrive will be the FIS race opener above Solden and the big snowfalls that are expected should be mighty welcome there.
